Welcome to Coverage Opinions


Started in 2012, Coverage Opinions is a free insurance coverage newsletter that reports and provides commentary on just-released decisions that concern numerous issues under commercial general liability and professional liability insurance policies. A careful selection process ensures that only decisions that address coverage issues of broad interest, offer an important lesson or are otherwise unique are featured.



Coverage Opinions also looks at the lighter side of the law and includes "Randy Spencer's Open Mic," a column from the only stand-up comic that specializes in insurance.


 Coverage Opinions is written and published by Randy Maniloff of White and Williams, LLP. Randy is also the co-author of the reference book General Liability Insurance Coverage – Key Issues in Every State and of the "Top 10 Coverage Cases of the Year" article for the past 22 years. Randy is an adjunct professor at Temple University's Beasley School of Law where he teaches Insurance Law.
